- Generate applied, systemic, and impactful research.

- Consolidate and make visible the University of Cundinamarca as a Green University Institution, consistent with its responsibility to society and nature, within the framework of the international standard.
- Inform and educate the community of the University of Cundinamarca and its stakeholders, both at its main campus and its regional branches and extensions, regarding the guidelines of this Institutional Environmental Policy.
- To promote the comprehensive protection of the physical and mental health of officials and contractors who contribute to the fulfillment of the institutional mission, through the prevention and control of occupational hazards.
- Comply with current legal regulations regarding occupational hazards and other applicable requirements.
- Assignment of responsibilities at all hierarchical levels, from senior management to the operational levels of the University, generating an individual and collective commitment to self-care and comprehensive health protection.
- Identify the hazards, evaluate, assess, and intervene in the risks present in the processes developed by the University Community and other stakeholders, establishing the respective controls, with the purpose of avoiding and minimizing incidents, work-related accidents, and occupational illnesses that may arise as a result thereof.
- Comply with the legal and regulatory requirements regarding information security and privacy that bind the activities of the Information Security Management System – ISMS.

OBJECTIVES
GENERAL OBJECTIVE
Generate and transfer relevant scientific knowledge that contributes to the development of the local, regional, national, and international community, through research and innovation projects framed within the National System of Science, Technology, and Innovation.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
- Monitor the research groups that were institutionally endorsed and registered with MinCiencias according to the results of the latest call for applications carried out in the two academic periods.
- Register and track the results of the STI (Science, Technology, and Innovation) products generated by the research groups of the academic programs.
- Encourage the participation of research seedbeds in the activities carried out or participated in by STI (Science, Technology, and Innovation), both internal and external to the institution, in accordance with the linked academic programs.
- Strengthening of the institutional substantive function in Science, Technology and Innovation STI.
SCOPE
It begins with the research lines being paramount in the execution of the procedures, continues with the creation of research groups and student research seedbeds, promoting the involvement of student and teacher researchers, and concludes with the transfer of the proposed research projects, guaranteeing the reliability of the results obtained within them.
PROCESS OPERATION POLICY
The operation of the process is based on Agreement 002 of 2008 (which establishes the research system at the University of Cundinamarca), the Research Policy that defines the guidelines governing the development of Science, Technology, and Innovation generated by the faculties through the Research Groups at the University of Cundinamarca (Agreement No. 0011 of April 25, 2019), the Institutional Educational Project (PEI), the current presidential plan, Development Plans, the National System of Science, Technology, and Innovation, the CISNA Matrix (Initial Conditions for entering the National Accreditation System) – Guidelines for the accreditation of academic programs, the Quality Management System, and the Standard Model of Internal Control (MECI); it is based on the continuous improvement cycle of Plan, Do, Check, and Act, and on compliance with current regulations.
