The Master's Program in Environmental Management for Sustainable Development at the University of Cundinamarca produces leading professionals distinguished by their ability to solve environmental problems through the development and application of tools for the environmental management of natural resources, sectoral environmental management, and territorial environmental management. This is achieved from a broad ethical and humanistic perspective that considers the challenges to be overcome in a translocal and transmodern manner. This is accomplished through the integration of policies, plans, programs, and projects within the framework of environmental management, contributing to sustainable development.

Occupational profile

The Master's in Environmental Management for Sustainable Development has a systemic and translocal approach to solving environmental problems that change over time. It is capable of working transdisciplinarily in the fields of environmental management to promote sustainable development, from the following occupations:

 

+ Director and coordinator of public and private entities, for the implementation of environmental management projects, accessing science, technology and innovation tools, and capturing opportunities that allow overcoming the limitations that challenge the achievement of sustainable development in a contextual way.

 

+ Consultant for the development and strategic articulation of planning processes from environmental management, following the guidelines for territorial planning, disaster risk management and climate change and the environmental regulations that are attributed to advance towards the vision of sustainable development at the international, national, regional and local levels.

 

+ Advisor for the generation of institutional capacities at the intra and intersectoral level, from sustainable environmental planning, translocal governance, environmental economic valuation, multilevel environmental education, and other tools that allow the sustainable management of the territory and contribute to the well-being of society as a whole.
